Tracker Safari Lodge

Tracker Safari Lodge

Tracker Safari Lodge is a great mid-range safari hotel. It is in the Buhoma sector, which is one of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park’s four gorilla-inhabited sectors, along with Nkuringo, Ruhija, and Rushaga. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, on the other hand, is known as having one of the most varied forests in Africa. It used to be part of a much bigger forest belt that went south to the slopes of the Virunga Mountains until farmers started cutting down trees in it about 500 years ago.

Also, the camp is at an elevation of 1500 meters and is only five minutes’ drive from the park offices. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is home to over 120 mammals, including over 650 critically endangered mountain gorillas and other primates. The park is made up of 321 square kilometers of plain and mountain rain forest.

You can easily get to the Buhoma gorilla hiking area from the Trackers Safari Lodge. It’s only a 5-minute drive to the training area, and it takes an hour to get to Ruhija. It can take anywhere from 30 to 7 hours to go gorilla trekking in the Buhoma area, based on how the gorilla family moves.

If you want to see Queen Elizabeth National Park from above, this is great chance for you. You will also see its clear blue lakes, such as Lake George and Lake Edward. As you walk through the nature reserve, you can see how the active craters on top of Nyiragongo light up the sky with a yellow-orange glow.

Seeing birds

Over 350 kinds of birds live in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is also the best place in Africa to watch birds in a highland forest. You can go birdwatching from the lodge along the Buhoma waterfall trail and the Mubwindi swamp trail.

These trails are home to many beautiful birds, such as the purple-breasted sunbird, the Regal sunbird, the Grauer’s broadbill, the Black-faced rufous warbler, the Yellow-streaked greenbul, the Mountain masked apalis, the Cinnamon-chested bee-eater, and the Shelley’s crimson wing.

When you wake up at the lodge, you’ll hear the sweet songs of many different kinds of birds. You can see them all day in the garden, which brings life to the lodge grounds. The best time to see birds is from March to September, and the best time to see migrating species is from November to April.

Experience the Muzabajirro Loop

As a guest at Trackers Safari Lodge, you can go hiking along this beautiful 6-kilometer trail where you can see many monkeys in trees that reach high into the air, bamboo, roaring rivers, green mountains in the distance, and birds moving around. People who like monkeys should do this exercise.

Public Walks

Giving out traditional medicine, making local beer, farming, and spinning are just some of the great things you can do during this amazing experience.

What the Batwa pygmy

Going to see the Batwa pygmies is a great experience. They used to live in the wild with mountain gorillas a long time ago. It is said that the Batwa gather food and hunt. Going to see these interesting people will give you a great look into how this hunter-gatherer culture used to live in the forest.

You will also have the chance to meet a traditional doctor who treats people with drugs made from plants and leaves. You will enjoy the lively cultural dance shows and singers singing old songs.
