From Kabale, the camp is ninety minutes’ drive; from Lake Bunyonyi, it is one hour and twenty minutes. The camp lies close to the gorilla trekking base.One may arrive at camp by car or air from the Kihihi or Kisoro airport. From kampala by road to Bwindi, the travel takes around eight hours (540km). One and half hour fly from Entebbe to kisoro airport The lodge has a serene natural surroundings with an amazing view of the forest.

Built in traditional construction style with natural materials of local woods, Ruhijha Gorilla guest home features five roomy and pleasant spaces on an elevated terrace overlooking the forest. Private en suite facilities like flushing toilets, hot and cold running showers, mosquito nets, free toiletries, free bottled water, slippers, towels and many more abound in well raised, beautifully painted rooms.

Terraces, huge sitting spaces with private wooden balconies allow you to relax and take in the amazing view of the canopy forest and surrounds from within rooms. Rooms include great, cosy beds with spotless bedding. Different sized rooms with single beds for individuals, double beds /twin, triple and family cottages abound.

Among the activities available at the camp are gorilla trekking as the tracking station is near, birding and viewing in the forest, nature hikes in nearby towns.

In the Kanungu area in southwest Uganda, the best and most visited national park is Bwindi woodland Impenetrable. More threatened mountain gorillas call the park home over 19 gorilla populations. The park covers 330.8 square kilo meters overall. Of the more over 600 mountain gorillas in Bwindi national park, 19 gorilla families are habituated.

Gorilla trekking occurs in the four sectors that make up the park: Nkuringo, Rushaga, Buhoma, and Ruhijha. The resort is located in the Ruhijha Sector, home to three gorilla families: Bitukura, Kyaguriro, and oruzongo.

One may also trace Nkuringo and Nyakagezi from their Ruhijha residence. With a stunning perspective of the forest canopy, Ruhijha sector is the best and most visited sector among others forming Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

Gorilla permit in Bwindi is at 800$. Globally, there are around seven hundred and eighty six mountain gorillas. Although some of Uganda’s population lives in Mgahinga national Park, most of them reside in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest; Uganda boasts close to half of their entire population here. Feb, March, June, July, September, October, and December is the ideal time to explore Bwindi impenetrable national park. Among the various things to do in the park are gorilla habituation experiences, traditional dance cultural experience, Batwa path, bird viewing, nature and forest walk, community visits in the bwindi forest, visiting lake Mutanda and Bunyonyi, golden monkey tracking at Mgahinga national park, and many more pursuits.
