Before one can visit the national park, park entrance fees are a leviness due for payment.
Queen Elizabeth national park has an entrance fee, just as other protected places all throughout the world. Since this money is used to support the conservation initiatives mandated by the governing body of all protected areas in Uganda; Uganda wildlife authority (UWA), still the one in charge of establishing; this money should really be called the conservation fee.
Like Kabatoro main gate, every entrance gate of Queen Elizabeth National Park grants entrance permission. Presenting a legal identity will help you to establish your status—that is, foreigner, foreign resident, and east African citizen—before you acquire the admission permit. East African citizens present their national identification cards to obtain the entrance permits to Queen Elizabeth national park; foreign residents of Uganda must present valid one-year working permits; foreigners are required to present their passports for verification.
For foreigners, the entrance cost for Queen Elizabeth National Park is USD40; for foreign residents of Uganda, USD30; and UGX20000 for the east African community members. The park admission cost covers only one day—that is, twenty-four hours. Furthermore, any additional minute from the permitted time counts as one extra day.
Interestingly, children—that is, those under the age of fifteen—are not charged park entrance fees.
Still classified, you can also pay the annual entrance charge. The annual park entrance fee to Queen Elizabeth National Park is only granted to the foreign residents, that is, foreigners at work in Uganda and the members of the east African community, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
- Foreign residents of Uganda are entitled to USD 350 yearly park entrance fees to Queen Elizabeth national park.
- Furthermore entitled to UGX150000 is both an individual and a citizen of East African community.
- A couple who live abroad are responsible USD 500.
Residents of the east African community are expected to pay UGX200000 annual park entry fees to queen Elizabeth national park. - A family for foreign citizens with a maximum of four children is entitled USD700 for their park access to Queen Elizabeth national park.
- Furthermore entitled to a UGX300000 park entrance charge is a family of east African nationals.
- For the corporate east African residents, the yearly park entrance costs for the international people are usd1500 and 2.5millions.
- A safari guide must be an East African national; their compensation covers UGX100000 for yearly park entrance fees. For Queen Elizabeth National Park, the same sum is needed for taxi drivers’ annual park entrance fee.
The park entrance charge to Queen Elizabeth national is not only relevant to persons but also the motor engines that enter the park like automobiles and air crafts as follows:
- For the east African citizens, motor cycles cost 10K; for the international residents, USD 30.
- For the international inhabitants, saloon automobiles price USD 40; for the east African citizens, USD 20.
- Minibuses cost USD50 and UGX30000 for east African citizens; international inhabitants are paid USD50.
- For international citizens, Pickups and 4WD cars are taxed USD50; for east African natives, UGX30000.
- School busses are also charged UGX50000.
Air crafts
- For foreign residents and east Africans respectively, helicopters charge USD 100 and uGX 250000 each landing.
- For the international inhabitants, a 4 to 21 and above aircraft is charged USD30 to USD50; for the east African residents, UGX60000 to UGX120000.
Note: Parking fees for aircrafts daily are USD8 for foreign residents and UGX5000 for east African nationals.
Warning
The park charges car entrance fees per admission.
The landing fees have nothing bearing on Queen Elizabeth National Park’s entrance fees.
If the en-route pilots spend less than two hours, they are not accountable to the park entrance fees.
