Park Entrance Fees: Home to the endangered mountain gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a world-renowned protected territory. The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the focal point of practically every safari in Uganda and possibly Africa. Its reputation as the national park that is home to over half of the world’s mountain gorilla population is the reason for this.

Situated southwest of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of Uganda’s smaller national parks, spanning around 331 square kilometers. In addition to other primates, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to a wide variety of mammal and bird species.

The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), the government agency in responsible of overseeing all other protected areas, regulates Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Setting the park entrance fees for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is another responsibility of the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Fees for Individual Park Entrance

According to the Uganda Wildlife Authority’s ranking, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is classified as one of the country’s major national parks and belongs under category A. The park entry costs are set according to the status of the visitors, which includes East African citizens, foreign residents, and foreign nonresidents as mentioned below;

Adult admission to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is 40 USD, 30 USD, and 20,000 UGX for foreign nonresidents, foreign residents, and East African citizens, respectively.
Children’s park admission costs in Bwindi are 20 USD, 10 USD, and 5000 UGX for foreign non-residents, foreign residents, and East African citizens, respectively.
Students and pupils are charged 3000 UGX and 5000 UGX, respectively, and are regarded as East African nationals.

You have the option to pay the annual park entrance fees for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. However, in this instance, only foreign residents and East African citizens are eligible for the annual park entrance costs, not foreign nonresidents;

The annual park entrance charge for an individual is 350 USD for foreign residents and 150000 UGX for East African natives.
A pair is charged 200000 UGX for East African natives and 500 USD if they are international residents.
Foreign residents and families with up to four children are eligible for an annual park admission cost of $700 USD. The annual park entrance fee for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, however, is 300,000 UGX for a family of East African citizens.

The annual corporate pass to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park costs 2.5 UGX million for East African locals and 1500 USD for foreign inhabitants.
The annual park entrance cost for a safari guide and a taxi driver to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is 100,000 Ugandan guineas.

The annual park entrance cost for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is $50 USD for a tour operator that is a foreign resident. The annual park entrance cost to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, however, is 125,000 UGX for a tour operator who is an East African national.

Access to protected regions is not free for individuals, but also for cars and airplanes. The fee is utilized to manage conservation initiatives within the impenetrable national park of Bwindi. The park access for cars and airplanes is determined by the motor engine’s condition as follows:

East African motor cars are charged 20,000 UGX and foreign motor vehicles are charged $30 USD. East African automobiles cost 20,000 UGX, whereas imported saloon cars cost 40 USD.
Minibuses, pick-ups, and 4WD vehicles cost $50,000 for foreigners and $30,000 for cars from East Africa.
The cost of buses and lorries is 150 USD for foreigners and 150000 UGX for those in East Africa.

Up to three seats are available for foreign planes landing in East Africa and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for 20 USD and 40,000 UGX, respectively.
On international flights, four to six seats cost $30 USD, whereas on East African flights, the fee is 60000 UGX.
Foreign and East African aircraft landing at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park are taxed 40 USD and 80000 UGX, respectively, for seats 7–14.
Aircraft with 15–20 seats cost 50 USD for foreigners and 100,000 UGX for East Africans.

When an airplane with 21 seats or more lands in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, it costs 60 USD for a foreign plane and 120000 UGX for an East African plane.
Each landing costs 100 USD for a foreign helicopter and 250000 UGX for an East African helicopter.
The daily parking price is 5000 UGX.
Be careful

For cars and airplanes, the park entrance price is per entry.
Passenger admission fees are not included in the park entrance prices for cars and airplanes.
If the pilots travel through the national park for less than two hours, they will not be compensated.
