People from outside of East Africa must pay 50 USD to go hiking with chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge. People who live in East Africa must pay 40 USD, and East African people must pay 30,000 UGX. As of July 1, 2024, the price of a chimpanzee ticket in Kibale Forest National Park went up to 250 USD for foreigners who don’t live in the park, 200 USD for foreigners who do live there, and 180,000 UGX for East African citizens.

Time of year in Uganda when you should go on a chimpanzee hiking tour
You can go chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park, Kyambura Gorge, Kalinzu Forest, and Budongo Forest at any time of the year, but the best time is during the dry season, also called the peak season, which is in June, July, August, September, December, January, and February. This is because there is less rain in the national parks during these months, so the chimpanzee trekking trails will be dry and easy to use. This is in contrast to the rainy season, when the trails are muddy and slippery, which makes chimpanzee trekking more difficult.
