Lake Chahati resort.
Lake Chahati Resort is a moderately priced place to stay on the shores of Lake Chahafi in the Kisoro area in the southwest of Uganda. It is only 20 minutes by car from Kisoro Town, which is close to the border with Rwanda.
The lodge has a second lake, which is called Lake Kayumbu. It is on 4 acres of land with a view of the beautiful volcanic mountains and the area around it. The resort is 11 km from the border with Kyanika, 45 minutes by car from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, 40 minutes from Mgahinga National Park, and 17 km from Muhabura Gate.
You can get to the resort by car (562 km) or by plane (2 hours flight from Entebbe International Airport to Kisoro airstrip, then 11 km to the camp). The drive from Kampala via Masaka and Mbarara takes 9 to 10 hours.
The flights always leave Entebbe early in the morning or in the middle of the morning for Kisoro.
Lake Chahati Resort
The Lake Chahati lodge Mara Legend Safari Camp has 9 beautiful and cozy rooms. Five of the rooms are doubles, three are twin standard rooms, and one is a triple room with a view of the lake and mountains in the area. The resort has king-sized twin or double beds for sharing, as well as single beds that can be used by one person.
It’s also good for families or groups of three.All of the rooms have a traditional building style, with natural materials like thatched roofs and modern designs that mix together.
All of the rooms are nicely decorated and have their own private bathroom with a flush toilet, hot and cold showers, mosquito nets, wooden chairs and tables, makeup mirrors and tables, hair dryers, free toiletries, a white duvet, and pillows, to name a few.
Each tent has a big living area and a veranda with an old-fashioned view of the lake, a mountain in the distance, and the land around it.

There is a dining area with a variety of perfect international (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) and African cuisines to suit the tastes of all guests. There is a buffet or continental breakfast area with a view of the water and forest birds, as well as dining areas where people can eat inside or outside. A well-trained, friendly, and well-organized staff that makes sure you are safe and comfortable.
A fully stocked bar with a shared room that looks out over the beautiful lake and serves a wide range of drinks, including local cocktails, wines, spirits, and beers from around the world. You enjoy any drink while taking in the view.

Some of the fun things you can do at the camp are Goriilla hiking and habituation in Mgahinga and Bwindi National Parks, tracking golden monkeys, birding or bird watching in the forest, nature walks in the forest, and trips to communities. Just to name a few.
A town called Kisoro is in the southwest of Uganda. It is on the border with both the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda. Kisoro has a lot of hotels, restaurants, and sites that bring in a lot of tourists. Mgahinga and Bwindi National Parks, which have many different kinds of animals and plants, live in Kisoro.
In Kisoro, you can visit Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, which is in the Virunga Mountains and has an area of about 33.7 square kilometers. The park is home to three dormant volcanoes: Mount Muhabura, Mount Gahinga, and Mount Sabyinyo.
More gorillas and rare golden monkeys are among the park’s over 39 kinds of mammals that bring in visitors from all over the world. There are also over 79 different kinds of birds, buffalo, leopards, bush bucks, and spotted hyenas. There are more than 80 mountain gorillas in Mgahinga National Park, but only one family of gorillas lives there permanently. It is called the “Nyakagezi gorilla family.”

A permit for a golden monkey costs $100, and a permit for a gorilla costs $800. Other monkeys come from Congo and Rwanda to live in Mgahinga National Park because it has enough food. Kisoro has a variety of budget, mid-range, and luxury accommodations that are helpful and cheap for people who want to visit the Mahinga Park and the Kisoro area.
Aside from gorilla trekking and gorilla habituation in Mgahinga National Park and Bwindi National Park, you can also track golden monkeys, go on nature walks in the parks, hike around the foothills of the Virunga volcanoes and look for forest birds, go birdwatching in the park, learn about the Batwa culture in Mgahinga by visiting the batwa, climb a volcano or a mountain, and do many other things.
