Drinks On Safari — Important Travel Information

On safari, it is common for you to buy your own drinks. Most camps and lodges feature a good variety of wines and spirits, with the more upscale options typically providing a wider selection. Refreshing beverages like beer, cool sodas, bottled water, and local gin can be found in abundance all around. Prices fluctuate based on the location of purchase. It is important to remember that for your health and safety, you should stick to bottled water instead of drinking from the taps. Water in bottles can be found for sale at various points along the journey, and a few lodges provide a small number of complimentary bottles in the guest rooms. We encourage you to pack your own supply of water purifying tablets or bring along your favorite water bottle for your journey.

A cooler box or small fridge is stowed in the vehicle for any drinks you want to keep chilled during your journey.

A beverage bag filled with tea and coffee is also provided in the safari vehicles – perfect for those early morning game drives and a great addition to packed lunches on lengthy travel days. Engage in a conversation about these requirements with your guide along the journey.
