Day 1: Arrive and embark on a journey to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe

On the first day of your 9-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, your adventure begins as our driver guide greets you based on your location. After a briefing about the exciting journey ahead, you will be transferred to a hotel in Kampala or Entebbe to unwind, enjoy dinner, and settle in for the night.

Day 2: Journey to Murchison Falls National Park through the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Following breakfast on the second day of your nine-day wildlife and gorilla safari in Uganda, your driver guide will meet you at the hotel to embark on an exciting journey to Murchison Falls National Park, situated in the northwestern region of Uganda. Your journey will include an exciting stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, followed by a delightful lunch break in Masindi before continuing on your adventure. After lunch, you will embark on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, an optional evening game drive awaits, offering the chance to observe magnificent wildlife such as buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, elephants, and giraffes as they make their way back to their resting areas. Following the exhilarating game drive, you will journey to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a night of rest.

Day 3: Exciting morning game drive and thrilling afternoon boat cruise

Following a hearty breakfast on the third day of your nine-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, your driver guide will arrive at the lodge to take you on a morning game drive, where you will have the chance to observe the early risers in their natural habitat. On the game drive, you will have the chance to encounter vast herds of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, giraffes, lions, leopards, and a variety of bird species, among others. Following the exhilarating game drive, you will head back to the lodge to enjoy a delightful lunch.

After lunch, embark on an exhilarating boat cruise to the base of the falls. Here, you will have the opportunity to witness large herds of hippos and crocodiles in the water, along with buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes along the shores. Keep your eyes peeled for aquatic birds such as kingfishers, cormorants, bee-eaters, and hornbills, among others. Following the exhilarating boat ride, you will journey back to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a cozy overnight stay.

Day 4: Journey to Fort Portal

Following a hearty breakfast on the fourth day of your nine-day journey through Uganda’s wildlife and gorillas, you will check out of the lodge and rendezvous with your driver guide for a transfer to Fort Portal. As you journey, you will savor a delightful lunch along the way while soaking in breathtaking vistas of the local communities, lush farmlands, charming homesteads, the majestic Rwenzori Mountains, and vibrant tea plantations, with opportunities to pause for photos and enjoy a leisurely stretch. Upon arrival in Fort Portal, you will head to the lodge, check in, and enjoy dinner before settling in for the night.

Day 5: Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park – embark on an exhilarating game drive followed by a captivating afternoon boat cruise.

Following a hearty breakfast on the fifth day of your nine-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, you will check out of the lodge and rendezvous with your driver guide for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the second largest national park in Uganda. Upon arrival in the park, you will embark on a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where you can encounter lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, and a variety of bird species, among others. After the exhilarating game drive, you will head back to the lodge to enjoy a delightful lunch.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise. After lunch, you will journey to the landing site close to Mweya safari lodge for an unforgettable experience along the Kazinga channel, a stunning 40km waterway that links Lake George and Lake Edward. On this exhilarating boat trip lasting around 2 hours, you will have the chance to witness impressive gatherings of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, spot buffaloes, elephants, and warthogs quenching their thirst along the banks, and observe a variety of water birds, among other exciting sights. Along the shores, you can witness fishermen getting ready with their gear for a night of fishing, and capture stunning photographs, among other experiences. After the exhilarating boat cruise, you will journey back to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a night filled with possibilities.

Day 6: Embark on an exhilarating chimpanzee trek in the stunning Kyambura gorge, followed by an exciting evening game drive.

Following breakfast on the sixth day of your nine-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, your driver guide will collect you from the lodge and take you to Kyambura gorge for an exciting chimpanzee trekking briefing. Following the briefing, you will embark on an exhilarating trek through the forest, seeking out the chimpanzees. This journey can last anywhere from 2 to 5 hours, depending on the whereabouts of these fascinating creatures. Once they are discovered, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself for one hour in their natural environment.

Following an hour spent with the chimpanzees, you will head back to the lodge for lunch. Afterward, prepare for an exciting evening game drive, offering a chance to spot some of the animals you may have overlooked during the earlier adventure. Following the evening game drive, you will journey back to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a night of rest.

Day 7: Journey to the enchanting Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Following breakfast on the seventh day of your nine-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, renowned as the premier destination for gorilla encounters, as it is home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas. The drive spans approximately 3 to 4 hours, with an exciting stopover at the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park along the way. The Ishasha sector is renowned for its unique lions that can be spotted lounging in the branches of acacia and fig trees during the game drive. The Ishasha sector is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, and Uganda kobs, among others. Following the game drive, you will enjoy a delightful lunch before continuing your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 8: Embarking on an exhilarating journey to trek gorillas in the breathtaking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Following a hearty breakfast on the eighth day of your nine-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, you will prepare a packed lunch. Your driver guide will then arrive at the lodge to take you to the park headquarters, where you will receive an informative briefing on the rules, regulations, and what to expect during your gorilla trekking adventure. Following the briefing, you will be assigned a gorilla family to explore and a park guide who is well-versed in the ways of the gorillas and familiar with the winding trails of the jungle. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location, as they frequently roam in search of food. While trekking, you will encounter a variety of wildlife, including forest elephants, buffaloes, and various primates such as l’hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and chimpanzees. Additionally, you will spot different bird species like the African harrier hawk, crowned hornbill, African green pigeon, and blue-headed sunbird, among others. Once the gorillas are located, you will have the chance to spend an hour in their habitat, where you can witness their daily routines such as feeding, breastfeeding, and playing. You will be able to observe their behaviors, capture stunning photos, and record unforgettable moments to share with those back home. Following your hour-long experience with the gentle giants, you will make your way back to the park headquarters, where you will receive a certificate for your gorilla trekking adventure. Then, you will reunite with your driver guide for a transfer to the lodge, where you can unwind for the evening with dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 9: Setting off for Kampala

On the final morning of your exhilarating 9-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari tour, you will enjoy breakfast before checking out of the lodge. Your guide will be waiting to embark on the journey back to Kampala, with a delightful lunch along the way. A stop at the Equator will offer a chance to pick up souvenirs and unique craft items, adding to the memories of your adventure. Your adventure begins at the Equator, leading you to Kampala, where you will arrive in the early evening. Once you reach your destination, your driver guide will take you to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any recommended location.
