From the vibrant capital of Kenya, Nairobi, we embark on an exciting journey southeast to the breathtaking Tsavo West National Park. Venture into the Chyulu Hills and Mzima Springs, where you’ll encounter a vibrant world filled with hippos and crocodiles. At Mzima Springs, we have the chance to observe hippos gliding gracefully beneath the water’s surface from the underwater viewing chamber.
On the first day of our luxury camping safari in Kenya, we enjoy dinner and spend the night at an eco-friendly safari lodge.
Day 2: Journey from Tsavo National Park to Amboseli National Park – Kenya
In the morning, we set off on an exhilarating game drive through Tsavo National Park before continuing our journey to Amboseli National Park. Situated in the northwestern region of Tsavo West Park, Amboseli lies close to the southern border of Kenya with Tanzania. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife as we journey to our next safari camp nestled within Amboseli Park.
Amboseli National Park spans 392km² and ranks as Kenya’s second most popular park, following the renowned Masai Mara. Amboseli is renowned for its stunning landscapes, featuring the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro rising to the south. This stunning environment offers incredible chances for photography, particularly for getting up close to majestic bull elephants, framed by the mountains in the backdrop.
We spend the night in fully equipped tents at an upscale, tented safari camp. Savor your dinner while taking in the stunning vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Amboseli plains from the exclusive camp.
Day 3: Amboseli National Park – Kenya
On the third day of our luxurious camping safari, we immerse ourselves in the wonders of Amboseli Park through exhilarating game drives.
Amboseli boasts vibrant grasslands nourished by the melting snow of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. At an impressive height of 5896m, the snow-capped mountain creates a stunning setting for wildlife observation in Amboseli.
Amboseli National Park is home to some of Kenya’s largest elephant herds and is renowned for its majestic elephant bulls adorned with impressive tusks. Amboseli stands out as a premier destination in Africa for experiencing elephants in their natural habitat, while also providing exceptional photographic chances of wildlife set against the stunning backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro.
The Game Park is home to vast herds of buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, hippos, and an array of antelope species, including impala. Amboseli Park boasts an incredible array of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, jackals, warthogs, and many more fascinating creatures. The park is alive with a vibrant array of birds, featuring bee-eaters, kingfishers, pelicans, African fish eagles, and falcons.
Enjoying dinner and spending the night camping in Amboseli at the same serene safari camp as the previous evening.
Day 4: Journey from Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park – Kenya
Next, our journey through Masai Mara and Kenya National Parks takes us north from Amboseli Park to Lake Nakuru, with a delightful picnic lunch planned along the way.
After lunch, we journey deeper into the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes as we drive. In the afternoon, we reach Lake Nakuru just in time for an exhilarating late afternoon game drive.
This Kenya national park is renowned for its incredible variety of birdlife, featuring over 400 species that make it a paradise for birdwatchers. Among the bird species are the Great White Pelican, African Spoonbill, Yellow-billed Stork, Lesser and Greater Flamingo, and Long-crested Eagle. The Lake Nakuru National Park serves as a vital refuge for some of Africa’s most endangered species, particularly the black and white rhinos, along with the majestic Rothschild Giraffes. The game reserve boasts a vibrant array of wildlife, including lions, waterbuck, buffalo, and baboons, all of which we eagerly watch for during our game drive.
Enjoy a delightful dinner and a cozy overnight stay at a welcoming lodge nestled within the expansive grounds of Lake Nakuru National Park.
Day 5: Journey from Lake Nakuru to the Masai Mara – Kenya

We journey through the Great Rift Valley, soaking in the breathtaking landscapes along the way.
Upon reaching the safari camp close to Masai Mara, we enjoy a delightful lunch, then set off on an exhilarating late afternoon to evening game drive in Mara.
Enjoy a delightful dinner and spend the night in a lavish tented camp nestled within a private conservancy close to the Masai Mara National Reserve.
Day 6 – 7: Masai Mara National Reserve – Kenya
The upcoming two days of our luxury camping safari promise exhilarating game viewing in Kenya’s renowned Masai Mara National Reserve.
Our morning and afternoon game drives lead us on an exhilarating quest for Africa’s Big Five and the diverse wildlife that calls this expansive Kenya national park home. On clear days, the Mara showcases breathtaking orange-tinged sunsets that create stunning photo opportunities.
The Mara Reserve spans 1510km² of breathtakingly expansive landscapes and lush riverine woodlands, tracing the serpentine paths of the Mara and Talek rivers in southwest Kenya. One glimpse is enough to capture its allure; it embodies the essence of vast African savannahs, teeming with incredible wildlife.
In the expansive Masai Mara Park, you will encounter an abundance of wildlife, including Masai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, hartebeests, and wildebeests. Incredible herds of elephants, buffalos, zebras, and hippos roam freely in abundance. Lions can often be spotted lounging contentedly after a satisfying feast or scanning the vast plains, keenly searching for their next opportunity. Cheetahs and leopards may be elusive, yet they can be found with some effort. The pinnacle of wildlife excitement unfolds during the annual wildebeest migration, famously called the Great Migration. Each July and August, millions of these grazers embark on a journey north from the Serengeti, driven by the quest for greener pastures, before making their way south again in October. The abundance of hoofed animals, in turn, draws in the fierce predators of Masai Mara – lion, cheetah, jackal, hyena, wild dog, and vultures.
The optional hot-air balloon trips provide a remarkable opportunity to explore the savannah plains alive with wildlife. These Masai Mara balloon trips can be organized for an additional fee. Your guide can also arrange visits to local Maasai villages for an enriching experience.
We spend the night at the same safari camp along the banks of the Oloirigynyisho River, near Masai Mara, during nights six and seven of our Masai Mara & Kenya National Parks Safari.
