8-Day Uganda Big 5 & Gorilla Trekking Safari
Overview
Starting in Entebbe, Uganda, this journey concludes in Kigali, Rwanda. You will be taken to the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary after being picked up from the Entebbe Airport or your Entebbe hotel. We will go to Murchison after monitoring rhinos. We will then continue on to the outskirts of Kibale National Park before entering Queen Elizabeth National Park. After a wildlife drive or safari, we’ll go to Bwindi to do gorilla trekking. We go to Kigali (via the Gatuna Border) from Bwindi for drop-off.
Trip Itinerary ( Detailed Safari )
Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport and drive to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
We hope you come before 14:00. You’ll pass immigration upon arrival. After retrieving your bags, go outside to meet your guides. The allocated Professional English-speaking Tour Driver-guide will greet you and we will travel to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a successful conservation attempt to conserve Uganda’s near-extinct rhino population.
Visitors to Uganda may now see rhinos because to this initiative. If you arrive early or are picked up from a hotel, you may take a guided nature walk. We’ll check in, relax, eat, and sleep otherwise.

Day 2: Shoebill excursion, followed by rhino tracking and then, head to Murchison Falls NP.
Start early for the (06:00am) shoebill trek and canoe ride through the Lugogo swamp to see the pre-historic shoebill stork and other bird species and watch the Ugandan dawn over the swamp. After this trip, we’ll have breakfast and see the rhinos. After rhino tracking, we may have a nice lunch in Zziwa and drive to Murchison Falls NP.
The Murchison River’s thundering rapids and Uganda’s biggest National Park’s undulating grasslands with lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants are attractions of this park.We visit the falls’ peak before returning to our hotel.

Day 3: Exploring Murchison NP – Morning and Afternoon game drives/safari.
A complete park game watching experience awaits you today. Buffaloes, Jackson hartebeests, elephants, Lions, Giraffes, leopards, and Hyenas live at Murchison Falls NP. They graze and hunt across the Savannah grasslands.
This makes the park’s terrain great for game viewing/driving.We can stop at Red Chilli for lunch to save the lengthy journey back to the accommodation. The second half of our game watching may begin after lunch.
After a wonderful day, we’ll refresh at the lodge before supper and bedtime. #Optional (additional cost $30 pp): The 11am boat ride to the bottom of the falls includes a trek to the top (extra $25 pp).

Day 4: Transfer to the edge of Kibale Forest NP, enjoy crater lakes excursion.
Eat breakfast and then take a shuttle to sleep at the edge of Kibale Forest National Park. The lengthy yet gorgeous trip passes past towns, rich green farmland, and hills with tea plantations in Uganda. Beautiful views will astonish you throughout.
Check into your hotel and then tour the Kibale crater lakes and trek to the “top of the world”. The many little lakes, mild slopes, and breathtaking vistas will delight you. Hike to Lake Nkuruba to see primates and birds. Walk around Kibale’s villages and chat with locals while taking in the scenery. Return for supper and sleep.

Day 5: Bigodi wetlands excursion, transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP, game drive.
Leave after breakfast for Bigodi wetlands. The Bigodi wetland is home to black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and baboons. Bigodi is a birdwatcher’s heaven. *Optional (230$/pp): Chimpanzee tracking (Kibale Forest) may replace the Bigodi wetlands tour.
Please remember that chimp tracking permits must be obtained before the date. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (approximately 2 hours) from Bigodi (or Kibale Forest) immediately. After becoming Queen, you may leave for game watching. Look for lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes during the wildlife drive/viewing.

Day 6: Sunrise game drive – Kasenyi plains, head to Ishasha sector and connect to Bwindi.
Wake up early for a Kasenyi plains wildlife drive. Look for Cape buffalos, elephant herds, lions, leopards (hard to locate), and more. We’ll then search Ishasha sector (Southern Queen) for tree-climbing lions. These lions are 70% visible, but they might be hard to locate while hunting in the grasslands. If you see them, it’s beautiful. We will go from Ishasha to our Bwindi National Park accommodations. We will check in and recuperate before tomorrow’s gorilla adventure.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking Bwindi Forest, return and stay at leisure – recovering.
Breakfast and then the rangers’ post. A ranger-guide will enlighten you on gorilla trekking rules. Adventure and encounter await you in the jungle. This rain forest is gorgeous! The densely wooded region is crisscrossed with animal routes for visitors. These huge primates’ movements affect the time (4-8 hours) and terrain.
You have one hour with a gorilla group after finding them. Our experience with these friendly yet endangered giants is memorable. After a long hike, unwind at the lodge. Optional (extra): If you finished early and are ready to go out again, ask your guide for a community visit or brief nature walk.

Day 8: Relaxed breakfast, transfer to Kigali – Rwanda to catch flight out.
Check out after a leisurely breakfast. Transfer to Gatuna Border Post. Our Rwandan Tour Driver-guide will meet you in Gatuna, replacing his Ugandan counterpart. You will be taken to Kigali and dropped off at the airport or hotel of your choice. If time allows, you may see Kigali City before being dropped off at the airport or accommodation. We appreciate your choice and trip (Home to Africa).
