Day 1: Journey from Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Tanzania
Your journey begins with a pickup from your hotel or the airport in Arusha, setting the stage for an exhilarating experience ahead. Your safari guide provides an exciting overview before we embark on our journey southwest to our first destination in Tanzania, Tarangire National Park.
This vibrant wildlife park boasts an incredible array of animals and is regarded as one of the most stunning wilderness regions in northern Tanzania. Tarangire Park is home to a remarkable number of elephants and features a landscape adorned with baobab and acacia thorn trees. This premier safari park in Tanzania boasts an array of majestic big cats, such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, alongside the fascinating tree-climbing pythons. The national park is home to a vibrant array of wildlife, featuring numerous giraffes, buffalos, zebras, and a variety of antelope species, including gazelles.
We spend the afternoon immersed in thrilling wildlife encounters in Tarangire Park. As the afternoon light starts to dim, we make our way to our campsite within Tarangire for our inaugural night of camping beneath the vast, twinkling African skies.

Day 2: Journey from Tarangire National Park to the breathtaking Lake Natron – Tanzania
After breakfast on day two of our Tanzania Wildlife Safari, we depart from Tarangire National Park, taking in the thrilling sights and sounds of the landscape as we go.
Our thrilling journey takes us along a hidden path on rugged gravel roads that have just become accessible to explorers. This hidden path leads us through the stunning Rift Valley Escarpment as we journey towards Lake Natron. As we traverse the landscape, we encounter Maasai villages on our way to the renowned peaks of the Rift Valley; Mount Gelai, also referred to as Oldonyo Lengai, ‘the holy mountain’ of the Maasai.
Today’s destination is the enchanting Maasai village of Ngare Sero, a charming and picturesque rural settlement. The intriguing village of Ngare Sero, along with its nearby waterfall, provides a refreshing escape from the sweltering heat of the dry Rift Valley landscape. We set up camp by Lake Natron, a vibrant spot where countless pink flamingoes gather to feed along the shimmering shores.
This afternoon, we embark on a journey to a nearby waterfall, accompanied by a local Maasai guide, before enjoying dinner and settling in at camp.

Day 3: Journey from Lake Natron to the Serengeti – Tanzania
On the third day of our Tanzania Camping Safari, we rise early to embark on our exciting journey to the legendary Serengeti Park. Our thrilling journey leads us away from the picturesque Great Rift Valley on rugged paths, revealing breathtaking vistas at every turn.
From there we venture into the vast expanse of the rolling Serengeti plains. Discover the reason behind the name Serengeti, which translates to “the endless plains” in Maasai. Tanzania’s most renowned safari park, the Serengeti Park, is the stage for the breathtaking spectacle of the annual Great Migration, the largest animal migration on the planet. Here, immense groups of rushing wildebeest, graceful gazelle, and striking zebra traverse the expansive plains, journeying in pursuit of lush pastures, drawing in a host of predators on their path.
The Serengeti National Park spans a vast 12,950km² in northern Tanzania, seamlessly connecting with the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya through unfenced borders. Together, Masai Mara and Serengeti create a vast and dynamic ecosystem, encompassing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Grumeti Game Reserve, and numerous other wildlife concession areas.
Tonight we will be camping in the central or northern part of the renowned Serengeti Park, immersed in the wild beauty of nature.

Day 4: Seronera Area, Serengeti Expedition – Tanzania
Today we embark on an exhilarating day exploring the wonders of Serengeti Park! We can either embark on a full-day game drive through this premier African safari destination or enjoy an early morning and afternoon game drive, based on where we camped the previous night.
Our game drives explore the vibrant Seronera area, renowned for its abundance of leopards. The stunning Seronera Valley of Serengeti is renowned for its remarkable encounters with various African predators and plentiful wildlife. The game viewing is breathtaking throughout the year, showcasing vibrant populations of Africa’s iconic Big Five – rhino, lion, buffalo, and elephant, along with the elusive leopard.
From December to May, this is the time when we can experience the breathtaking spectacle of the Great Migration unfolding right before our eyes. Observing vast groups of wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, and other grazers journey across the plains is an experience that stays with you forever! If you find yourself on a Tanzania Wildlife Safari from January to March, you’ll be rewarded with the enchanting view of newborn calves and foals.
After venturing through Tanzania’s oldest and most renowned national park, we journey towards our campsite. We spend the night camping in the heart of Serengeti National Park, nestled in the Seronera area.

Day 5: Journey from Serengeti Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Tanzania
This morning, we embark on our Tanzania Wildlife Safari, venturing once more into the untamed expanse of Serengeti Park for an exhilarating final game drive.
The final opportunity to encounter new wildlife and witness the breathtaking spectacle of the Great Migration in Serengeti. In addition to the Big 5 of Africa, the Serengeti boasts a remarkable variety of antelope species, including eland, topi, kudu, impala, oribi, waterbuck, and gazelle. The Serengeti is home to an array of fascinating wildlife, including cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, serval cats, crocodiles, hyenas, and a multitude of other creatures such as monkeys, mongooses, and various rodent species. Additionally, it boasts over 500 bird species!
Following our last thrilling journey through Serengeti, we set off for the Ngorongoro Crater, departing after lunch. The Ngorongoro, nestled within the Serengeti ecosystem, is a vast caldera that stretches an impressive 18 km across, with towering walls reaching heights of 600m. This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts an incredible array of wildlife, featuring approximately 25,000 large mammals, making it a thrilling destination for those seeking excitement and exploration. The rich environments on the lush crater floor teem with an array of wildlife, featuring elephants, monkeys, hyenas, jackals, and vibrant herds of zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, and various antelope species.
Tonight we set up camp on the rim of the crater, where the stunning vistas stretch out before us, revealing the beauty of the landscape below. Relax and savor your drinks while soaking in the breathtaking sunset views.

Day 6: Explore the Ngorongoro Crater & Discover Mto wa Mbu village – Tanzania
Following a hearty breakfast on the sixth day of our Tanzania Camping Safari, we set off into the Ngorongoro Crater. We plunge down the rugged crater walls in our 4×4 safari vehicle, ready to uncover the wonders of this vibrant wilderness alive with Africa’s wildlife.
The Ngorongoro Crater is home to the Big Five of Africa, showcasing one of the highest concentrations of lions globally. This compact crater is home to nearly all the wild animal species that roam the savannahs of East Africa. Ngorongoro presents an exceptional opportunity for wildlife enthusiasts and is renowned as a prime location to photograph the endangered black rhino.
With a bit of fortune, we’ll encounter the majestic Big Five along with hippos, warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, and a glimpse of some of the more than 500 bird species that inhabit the area. During our exhilarating 4×4 game drive in the crater, we pause to savor a delightful picnic lunch, before continuing our journey out of this renowned Tanzania safari park. From Ngorongoro, we journey to our next campsite close to the vibrant village of Mto wa Mbu in the crater highlands.

Day 7: Journey from Mto wa Mbu village to Arusha – Tanzania
Our final day on safari in Tanzania begins with a relaxed breakfast at camp, setting the stage for an exciting day ahead. Then we journey back to Arusha where this budget-friendly Tanzanian Camping Safari began. As we journey onward, we encounter Lake Manyara and descend into the Rift Valley, taking in the breathtaking panoramic vistas that unfold before us.
We roll into Arusha around midday. Your guide takes you to Arusha city or the airport for your next journey, marking the end of our incredible Tanzania Wildlife Safari.
