We journey south through Kenya to Lake Nakuru National Park, pausing for a delightful lunch along the way. Upon reaching Lake Nakuru Park, we embark on an exhilarating afternoon game drive through this vibrant wildlife haven.

This Kenyan game park continues to be a paradise for bird enthusiasts, boasting over 400 species of birds that call it home. Among the bird species are the Great White Pelican, African Spoonbill, Yellow-billed Stork, Lesser and Greater Flamingo, and Long-crested Eagle.

The Lake Nakuru National Park encircles the lake and was initially established to safeguard the vibrant birdlife present in the area, eventually evolving into a national park to offer refuge for endangered species like the rhino. There are approximately 25 white and black rhinos, representing one of the largest gatherings in the country. This park is home to predators, and Rothschild’s giraffes have been brought here for their protection. This small park (180 sq km) is alive with the presence of warthogs, baboons, waterbuck, buffaloes, reedbucks, zebras, and the occasional leopard, inviting exploration and discovery at every turn.

This evening at our cozy lodge in the national park, we savor dinner and unwind after an exhilarating day of game spotting and bird watching by the lake.
