The journey begins in Entebbe, aboard a specially designed small aircraft, soaring over the picturesque, Tuscan-like scenery of southwestern Uganda, leading to a tranquil forest lodge nestled at the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Here, you will immerse yourself for the next three nights in a forest cottage, surrounded by captivating views of the misty forest canopy and the rolling hills of the rift valley.
On the second day, you will embark on an exhilarating journey alongside expert trackers for the gorilla trekking excursion. Once you encounter the great apes, you will immerse yourself for an exhilarating hour watching the mountain gorillas in their wild habitat.
On the fifth day, a local walking safari will lead you through the timeless paths of the captivating Bwindi Forest. Immerse yourself in the wild embrace of the forest, where untamed creatures like chimpanzees, forest elephants, and a myriad of birds may unexpectedly cross your path. Experience a night in a captivating forest cottage, nestled on the other side of the woods, before embarking on your journey back to Entebbe the following day.
Trip Itinerary ( Detailed Safari )
Day 1: Entebbe – Exploring the World of Shoe Bills
Your journey begins with a pickup from Entebbe International Airport, just a short 15-minute ride, before you settle into your hotel in Entebbe. You will gather with your trip specialist for an exciting briefing just before dinner.
For those who arrive early and seek excitement, there are optional activities around Entebbe to keep you engaged. For instance, bird-watchers can explore the famous botanical gardens or Mabamba swamps to encounter the ancient shoebill. You can embark on a leisurely stroll to the vibrant local markets or explore the bustling modern malls.
Your accommodations will be at either Boutique Hotel Number 5 (Luxury) or Papyrus Guesthouse (Comfortable).
Day 2: Journey from Entebbe to Kisoro – Canoeing
Your journey begins with an early morning flight from Entebbe to Kisoro. In Kisoro, you will embark on a journey with a walking guide through vibrant village communities and lush terraced gardens, pausing at the serene shores of Lake Mutanda.
At lake Mutanda, you will embark on an exhilarating journey with the fishermen as you paddle across the stunning volcanic waters in traditional dug-out canoes. The serene journey leads you to a delightful garden stroll as you prepare to meet your driver up the hill.

Day 3: Exciting Gorilla Trekking Adventure
Your butler will have you ready to embark on your day by 7:00 am, equipped with a packed lunch, the perfect trekking gear, refreshing drinking water, and a sturdy walking stick. The thrilling trekking excursion briefing kicks off at 7:30 am at the visitor’s centre.
8:00 am: Your guide, along with two armed rangers, will take you and six fellow adventurers deep into the rainforest in search of a familiar gorilla group. Once you discover the mountain gorilla family, you will have the chance to watch them for about an hour from a distance of 10 meters. Alternatively, you can spend around four hours observing the gorillas if you secure a gorilla habituation pass.
Each day spent in the forest unfolds uniquely, with surprises waiting around every corner. However, most trekkers emerge from the jungle by 2:00 pm, wearing a satisfied grin.
We suggest indulging in a massage at the lodge spa upon your return, followed by a tranquil evening to unwind.

Day 4: Exciting Opportunities Await
The fourth day of this Uganda gorillas & walking safari journey offers some optional activities to keep you engaged. Alternatively, you can immerse yourself in the charm of your forest cottage for a day filled with exploration and excitement.
Unwind at the lodge, dive into a captivating book, explore your culinary skills in a cooking class, or stroll around the grounds and engage with the locals.
Venture once more into the enigmatic jungle to encounter the gorillas again. Consider teaming up with the rangers for an immersive experience that allows you to spend more time with the gorillas. Just keep in mind that securing your trekking permit in advance is essential.
Explore the Batwa forest people on a brief trail through the woods, where they reveal their time-honored forest medicines, vibrant cultures, captivating drama, and lively dance.
Embark on a sundowner picnic atop the world, surrounded by breathtaking 360-degree vistas of rolling hills. It is just a short stroll from the lodge.

Day 5: Trek Through Bwindi
At 8:00 am, you will embark on an exhilarating walking safari with your guide, setting off on the trail from either the lodge (Kashasha Trail) or a few miles away (Ivy River Trail).
As you traverse this trail, you might encounter towering ferns, majestic trees, countless butterflies, vibrant birds, forest elephants, playful chimpanzees, curious monkeys, bush pigs, and perhaps even a leopard lurking nearby. Your guide will ensure that the pace accommodates everyone, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the wild and captivating surroundings.
The forest trail you will walk is among the most ancient paths forged by humanity on the continent. They established a commercial link between the Nkuringo and Nteko villages, perched high on the southern edge of Bwindi, and Buhoma village, nestled in the lower northern part of the ancient rainforest. You might encounter some locals as you traverse to the other side. Yet, you are accompanied by two skilled rangers armed with guns, ready to safeguard you from fierce wildlife and other mysterious threats.
You discover a cozy hut nestled in the forest, the perfect spot to take a break and enjoy your packed lunch before setting off to Buhoma.
In Buhoma, just 800 meters from the exit gate, you will arrive at a charming forest cottage featuring a cozy fireplace, a delightful dinner, and breathtaking views of the jungle you have just explored. Stay overnight and embark on your journey back to Entebbe the next day.

Day 6: Soar from Kihihi to Entebbe
Your journey begins with an 8:00 am domestic flight from Kihihi Airport, just an hour’s drive from Buhoma, taking you to Entebbe International Airport, beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Victoria. The flight lasts around an hour, soaring above Uganda’s stunning landscapes and the magnificent Lake Victoria.
