Day 2: Amboseli National Park – Kenya

Today promises an exhilarating day of game viewing in Amboseli National Park. We embark on thrilling morning and afternoon game drives through this picturesque game reserve, with the exciting opportunity to visit a Maasai village as an optional extra.

Amboseli National Park stands out as a renowned destination for wildlife enthusiasts in Kenya. Amboseli Park features vast grasslands and the majestic foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. At an impressive height of 5896m above sea level, the snow-capped mountain creates an exhilarating setting for wildlife observation in Amboseli. Amboseli National Park is home to some of Kenya’s largest elephant herds and is renowned for its magnificent elephant bulls showcasing their impressive tusks. Amboseli stands out as one of Africa’s premier game parks, providing an incredible chance to encounter elephants in their natural habitat, while also presenting breathtaking photographic moments of wildlife set against the stunning backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro.

The Game Park is home to vast herds of buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, hippos, and a variety of antelope species, including impala. Amboseli National Park boasts a vibrant array of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, and numerous other species of plains game. The park is alive with a vibrant array of birds, featuring bee-eaters, kingfishers, pelicans, African fish eagles, and falcons.

We head back to the familiar camp in Amboseli, ready for a night beneath the twinkling stars. Savor delicious meals and experience another night at the exclusive safari camp, surrounded by stunning vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 3: Journey from Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park – Kenya

We set off from Amboseli this morning, heading north towards Nairobi, where we’ll pause for a delightful lunch. After lunch, we embark on a journey to the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by stunning landscapes as we cruise along the road. As the sun begins to set, we reach Lake Nakuru Park, ready for an exhilarating evening game drive.

Lake Nakuru National Park began its journey as a bird sanctuary before it was officially designated as a national park. Lake Nakuru is home to more than 400 diverse bird species, featuring a variety of water birds. Among the bird species are the Great White Pelican, African Spoonbill, Yellow-billed Stork, Lesser and Greater Flamingo, and Long-crested Eagle. The Lake Nakuru National Park serves as a vital refuge for some of Africa’s most endangered wildlife, including the black and white rhinos, as well as the majestic Rothschild’s giraffes. The game reserve boasts a vibrant array of wildlife, including lions, waterbuck, buffalo, and baboons, all of which we eagerly watch for during our game drive.

We enjoy a meal and unwind at the lodge in Lake Nakuru National Park.

Day 4: Journey from Lake Nakuru to the Masai Mara – Kenya

On the fourth day of the Amboseli, Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara Safari, the morning begins with a delightful breakfast at the lodge. Then it’s back on the road, as we journey to our next thrilling game-viewing destination in Kenya, the renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve.

We reach our tented camp close to Masai Mara and enjoy lunch, then set off on an exhilarating afternoon game drive in one of the most remarkable wildlife destinations on the planet.

Then it’s time for dinner at the safari camp, nestled along the banks of a river within a private Masai Mara conservancy. Retreat to your expansive tented room and drift off to the symphony of the African wilderness.

Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve – Kenya

We dedicate the entire next day to exploring the wonders of Kenya’s premier game park – the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Our morning and afternoon game drives lead us on an exhilarating quest for Africa’s Big Five and the multitude of other wildlife that call this expansive Kenyan game reserve home. On clear days, the Mara presents breathtaking orange-tinged sunsets that beckon to be captured on camera. The Mara reserve spans 1510 sq km of breathtaking, expansive landscapes and lush riverine woodlands that trace the winding paths of the Mara and Talek rivers in Kenya. Just a single look reveals its charm; it features a classic open savannah, teeming with incredible wildlife.

In the expansive Masai Mara, every corner reveals an abundance of wildlife, including Masai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topi, impala, hartebeests, and wildebeest. Great numbers of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos can be found. Lions can often be spotted lounging in the sun after a satisfying feast or scanning the vast plains, keenly searching for their next opportunity. Cheetahs and leopards may be elusive, yet they are fairly prevalent in their habitats.

The pinnacle of excitement unfolds during the annual wildebeest exodus, known as the Great Migration, which takes place in July and August. During this time, millions of these herbivores journey north from the Serengeti in pursuit of greener pastures, only to head south once more in October.

Hot-air balloon trips offer an exceptional perspective of the savannah plains brimming with wildlife. Exciting balloon trips in the Masai Mara can be organized for an additional fee.

Tonight, we will spend the night at a luxurious tented camp, nestled in a beautiful and untamed landscape close to Masai Mara.

Day 6: Journey from Masai Mara to Nairobi – Kenya

Begin day six of our budget Kenya safari with a delightful breakfast at the tented camp nestled in the private Masai Mara Conservancy. Then it is time to bid farewell to the wild landscapes of the African bush and journey back to Nairobi.
