Trip Itinerary ( Detailed Safari )

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The Kampala-Masaka route will get you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, seven hours’ journey away. On route, you will stop in Mbarara for lunch and near the equator for pictures. You will thereafter be moving to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Mbarara to Queen Elizabeth National Park drives around three hours.

Accommodation: Kazinga Wilderness Safari Camp

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise at Kazinga Channel.

Enjoy a wildlife drive to the northern part of the park, Kasenyi plains, in search of leopards and lions first thing in the morning. Among others, you might expect to see large herds of elephants, buffalos, Uganda kobs, warthogs, Defassa waterbucks, bushbucks and massive forest pigs as you go along.

Before starting a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel at 2:00 pm, return to the resort for a delicious lunch. The launch experience will take you closer to large populations of hippos, elephants, numerous migrating and indigenous birds. Retrace your steps to the lodge at 6:00 pm for supper and leisure.

Day 3: Ishasha – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (chimpanzee tracking).

After breakfast at 8:00 am, seek for tree-climbing lions by first heading to Ishasha, the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The travel from Mweya to Ishasha Gate takes around one hour. Lions start climbing fig trees around 10:00 am in search of cover from the sweltering heat to unwind after a night and morning feast on the antelopes.

You will move for a delicious lunch at Savannah Hotel at 1:00 pm. Then, have an evening communal walk with the Batwa (pygmies) in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Note: Before you visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, early in the morning you might go for chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu Forest.
Situated in the Bushenyi area of southwest Uganda, Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve Near Maramagambo Forest and Queen Elizabeth National Park is Among the many species found in Kalinzu Forest Reserve are over 379 kinds of birds and six species of primates.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking.

After breakfast, get ready and then climb to the park headquarters—a few meters from your lodging. Before the gorilla walk starts at 8:30 a.m., the park ranger will brief you.

Though it is a demanding activity, gorilla trekking is recognized as the most fulfilling wildlife encounter. Depending on their mobility in the forest, the time it takes to come across these apes may be one hour or several hours.

Day 5: End of the tour.

Once breakfast is over, you will be transferred back to the airport, which will mark the conclusion of your five-day safari in Uganda.
