3-Day Gorilla Trekking Tour in Uganda
Overview
The most sought-after bucket list experience of hiking Uganda’s mountain gorillas in the wild is the highlight of our gorilla-tracking safari. It is also among the most remarkable animal interactions available worldwide. This day will see you experience the Batwa Community walk and paddling on Lake Bunyonyi.
Trip Itinerary ( Detailed Safari )
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Batwa Community Trail.
When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport (EBB), a Dav Safaris service member will inform you. About seven hours make up this lengthy day journey, including a lunch halt on way.
Though lengthy, the trip passes through many areas including tropical rain forests, savannah grasslands, and the terraced hills of Kigezi commonly referred to as the Switzerland of East Africa.
Arriving in Bwindi, we will check in at the lodge and then go to the Batwa settlement for the cultural excursion about these forest pygmies. You will spend leisurely the remainder of the day waiting for the adventure of the following day. Meal schedule calls for lunch and supper.
Accommodation: Broadbill Forest Camp
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Canoe Ride.
After breakfast early in the morning, proceed to a briefing where we will meet the first-rate local guides and trackers speaking on gorilla trip etiquette. After that, we will climb into the bush and follow from where gorillas were spotted the night before.
Depending on the family’s location and heights over 7500 feet, trekking might take anywhere from one to six hours. The ground is uneven and muddy, which calls for athletic ability. The climb is physically taxing, but the splendor of the forest and surrounds makes the trip worthwhile.
On the journey, it is advised that you carry plenty of water. One should advise cameras and plenty of fast-speed films. Being a tropical rain forest, it might rain without warning, hence you should pack waterproof gear including film and camera zip-lock bags. Strong hiking and walking shoes, long trousers, gloves, and a raincoat are among those others to include. Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi later on.
Accommodation: Itambira Island
Day 3: Transfer to Kampala via Equator the Line.
Start the lengthy trip back to Entebbe or Kampala with memories of the huge uncommon mountain apes after breakfast. Lunch on route and halt at the equator line for research. You have to plan an evening flight as you will be arriving late in the evening and dropped off at Entebbe International Airport at around 6:00 pm.
