Day 1: Arrive and embark on a journey to a hotel in Kampala,

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport on day 1 of the 16 Days Uganda Primates, Wildlife and Culture Safari, our driver guide will be there to greet you. After a brief overview of the exciting journey ahead, you will be taken to a hotel in Kampala for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Journey to Gulu through the captivating Ziwa rhino sanctuary

Following breakfast on the second day of your 16-day adventure through Uganda’s primates, wildlife, and culture, your driver guide will arrive at the hotel to provide a briefing about the safari before embarking on the journey to Gulu. Your journey will include an exciting stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exhilarating rhino trekking experience, followed by another delightful stop for a lunch break along the way. After lunch, you will embark on your journey, and upon reaching Gulu, you will check into the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for lunch before embarking on an exhilarating afternoon game drive in the park. Here, you will have the chance to encounter a variety of wildlife, including elephants, Uganda kobs, giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, oribi, and elands, among others. Following the game drive, you will head back to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a night of rest.

Day 4: An exhilarating full day game drive in Kidepo National Park

Following an early breakfast on day 4 of the 16-day Uganda primates, wildlife, and culture journey, your driver guide will arrive at the lodge to collect you along with your lunch box. You will embark on an exhilarating full-day game drive in the park, where you will have the chance to encounter a variety of animals, including Jackson’s hartebeest, oribi, elands, Uganda kobs, side-striped jackal, Klipspringer, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas, among others. Following the exhilarating game drive, you will journey back to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a night of rest.

Day 5: Exciting morning game drive and immersive Karamajong cultural tour

On day 5 of the 16 Days Uganda Primates, Wildlife and Culture Safari, you will rendezvous with your driver guide for an exhilarating morning game drive in the park, where you will have the chance to encounter some of the animals that may have eluded you the day before. Following the exhilarating game drive, you will head back to the lodge to enjoy a delightful lunch.

After lunch, you will embark on an engaging Karamajong cultural tour where you will have the opportunity to connect with the Karamajong people, discover their culture, traditions, and way of life, hear their ancient stories, and enjoy their traditional entertainment, among other experiences. After the cultural tour, you will head back to the lodge for an evening of unwinding, enjoying dinner, and settling in for the night.

Day 6: Journey to Murchison Falls National Park

Following breakfast on the sixth day of the 16 Days Uganda Primates, Wildlife and Culture Safari, you will enjoy your meal, check out of the lodge, and meet your driver guide to embark on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. As you journey along, you will savor a delightful lunch while taking in breathtaking vistas of the stunning landscape, charming countryside, and picturesque farmlands, among other wonders. Upon arrival, you will drive straight to the summit of the falls, where breathtaking views of the waterfall, diverse mammals, vibrant bird species, and stunning landscapes await you. Following the exhilarating tour at the top of the falls, you will journey to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a cozy overnight stay.

Day 7: Exciting morning game drive followed by a thrilling afternoon boat cruise

Here, you will have the chance to encounter a variety of wildlife, including Uganda kobs, warthogs, giraffes, elephants, bushbucks, lions, leopards, hyenas, and Jackson’s hartebeest, as well as a diverse array of bird species. Following the exhilarating game drive, you will head back to the lodge to enjoy a delightful lunch.

Afternoon boat expedition,

After lunch, you will embark on a drive to Paraa landing site for an exciting boat cruise to the base of the falls, which takes about 2 to 3 hours. On the boat trip, you will encounter breathtaking sights of majestic animals such as elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes as they come to quench their thirst. You will also spot hippos and crocodiles in the water, along with a diverse array of bird species including kingfishers, fish eagles, bee-eaters, and hornbills, among others. Following the exhilarating boat cruise, you will embark on a drive back to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a cozy overnight stay.

Day 8: Journey to Kibale National Park

Following breakfast on day 8 of the 16 Days Uganda Primates, Wildlife and Culture Safari, you will check out of the lodge and rendezvous with your driver guide for the journey to Kibale National Park. Prepare for an entire day of exploration, where you will savor a delightful lunch along the way and be captivated by breathtaking vistas of lush farmlands, the majestic Rwenzori Mountains, sprawling tea plantations, the serene Lake Gorge, and enchanting crater lakes, among other wonders. As you step into Kibale National Park, you will settle into the lodge for a delightful dinner and a night filled with anticipation.

Day 9: Embark on an exhilarating chimpanzee trekking experience before heading to the stunning Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Following a hearty breakfast on the ninth day of the 16 Days Uganda Primates, Wildlife and Culture Safari, you will gather with your driver guide to head to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for an exciting briefing on chimpanzee trekking. Following the briefing, you will be split into groups of six, each assigned a chimpanzee family to explore alongside a knowledgeable park guide familiar with the forest trails. Trekking chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzees, as they enjoy wandering in search of food. While trekking, you will encounter a variety of primates, including grey-cheeked mangabeys, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and l’hoest monkeys, along with various bird species and plants. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will have the opportunity to spend one hour with them in their natural environment. This experience allows you to observe their behaviors, watch them feed, breastfeed, engage in playful fights, hunt, and enjoy the sight of juveniles frolicking in the trees, all while capturing photos and recording these unforgettable moments. Following your thrilling encounter with the chimpanzees, you will embark on a trek back to the park headquarters, where you will reunite with your driver guide for the journey back to the lodge to enjoy a delightful lunch.

After lunch, you will bid farewell to the lodge and rendezvous with your driver guide for an exciting transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. As you journey along, you will be captivated by stunning vistas of the landscape, enchanting crater lakes, and lush tea plantations. Once you arrive, you will settle into the lodge for a delightful dinner and a restful night.

Day 10: Exciting morning game drive and thrilling lion tracking, followed by a captivating afternoon boat cruise.

On day 10 of the 16 Days Uganda Primates, Wildlife and Culture Safari, you will enjoy breakfast before joining your driver guide for an exhilarating morning game drive or an exciting lion tracking adventure in the Kasenyi plains. On the game drive, you will encounter breathtaking sights of vast herds of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, waterbucks, and warthogs roaming the expansive savannah plains. Keep your eyes peeled for elusive predators like lions and leopards, and enjoy the diverse array of bird species that may cross your path. Following the game drive, you will head to Lake Katwe, a stunning crater lake where you can observe animals drawn to the salt, discover various bird species, and engage with the local community as they extract rock salt from the lake. From Lake Katwe, you will embark on a drive to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will embark on an exhilarating boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a stunning waterway that links Lake George and Lake Edward. On this exhilarating boat cruise lasting around 2 hours, you will have the opportunity to witness elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, and warthogs quenching their thirst along the shores. Marvel at the impressive gatherings of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, and keep your eyes peeled for a variety of water birds, including the martial eagle, papyrus gonolek, pelicans, hornbills, African skimmers, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, and kingfishers. You will also see fishermen skillfully organizing their nets along the water banks, adding to the vibrant scene. As you journey through the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, keep your eyes peeled for the remarkable sight of tree-climbing lions lounging gracefully among the branches of fig trees. Following the game drive in the Ishasha sector, you will enjoy lunch before embarking on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge to unwind, savor dinner, and spend the night.

Day 12: Embarking on a thrilling journey to track gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Following a hearty breakfast on day 12 of the 16 Days Uganda Primates, Wildlife and Culture Safari, you will grab your lunch box and rendezvous with your driver guide. Together, you will head to the park headquarters for an essential briefing on the rules, regulations, and what to expect during your gorilla trekking adventure. Following the briefing, you will be split into groups of 8, with each group assigned to a gorilla family to explore, accompanied by a park guide who possesses extensive knowledge about the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. Along the way, you will encounter a variety of forest birds, other primates, and diverse plant and tree species, making for an exhilarating experience. Once the mountain gorillas are located, you will have the chance to spend an hour in their presence. This experience allows you to discover their lifestyle, observe their behaviors and habits, capture stunning photos, watch them engage in their daily activities, and create unforgettable memories to share with others back home. Following an awe-inspiring experience with the majestic creatures, you will make your way back to the park headquarters, where you will receive a certificate for your participation in gorilla trekking. Afterward, you will reunite with your guide to head back to the lodge for a delightful evening of relaxation, dinner, and a restful overnight stay.

Day 13: Journey to Lake Bunyonyi – exhilarating boat ride

On day 13 of the 16 Days Uganda Primates, Wildlife and Culture Safari, you will enjoy breakfast, check out of the lodge, and rendezvous with your driver guide for an exciting transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale, a journey that will take approximately 3 to 4 hours. Upon arrival, you will embark on an exciting boat ride or canoeing adventure, allowing you to discover some of the 29 islands and observe various bird species, among other wonders.

After the boat ride, you will enjoy lunch where you can unwind at the lodge or take part in exciting optional activities like a cultural tour, nature walks, or zip lining. In the evening, you will savor dinner and spend the night at the lodge.

Day 14: Journey to Lake Mburo National Park – an exhilarating game drive awaits!

Following breakfast on day 14 of the 16 Days Uganda Primates, Wildlife and Culture Safari, you will check out of the lodge and rendezvous with your driver guide for a transfer to Lake Mburo. Your journey will be filled with breathtaking views of the landscape, and once you arrive, you will settle into the lodge for a delightful lunch. Later, prepare for an exciting evening game drive, where you will have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including waterbucks, buffaloes, oribi, topi, zebras, impalas, and giraffes, among others. Following the evening game drive, you will journey back to the lodge for dinner and a night of rest.

Day 15: Exciting morning game drive followed by a thrilling afternoon boat cruise

Following an early breakfast on day 15 of the 16 Days Uganda Primates, Wildlife and Culture Safari, you will rendezvous with your driver guide for an exhilarating morning game drive. Here, you will be treated to stunning views of wildlife such as waterbucks, elands, buffaloes, zebras, impalas, topi, and giraffes, all grazing in the expansive open savannah plains, adorned with morning dew. Following the exhilarating game drive, you will journey back to the lodge for a delightful lunch.

After lunch, you will embark on an exciting boat cruise where you can spot hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, observe buffaloes, waterbucks, and warthogs drinking along the shores, and enjoy the sight of water birds such as kingfishers, bee-eaters, fish eagles, and cormorants, among others. After the exhilarating boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a night filled with excitement.

Day 16: Exciting walking safari and journey to Kampala

Following breakfast on the final day of the 16 Days Uganda Primates, Wildlife and Culture Safari, you will check out of the lodge and join your driver guide for an exhilarating walking safari in the park. Here, you will have the chance to encounter various wildlife species and birds up close, creating unforgettable memories. Following the walking safari, you will reconnect with your driver guide and embark on the drive out of the park, beginning your journey back to Kampala. During your journey, you will enjoy a delightful lunch along the way and make a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe, where you can capture memorable photos and shop for unique crafts, among other experiences. Your adventure continues from the Equator as you make your way to Kampala, arriving in the evening. Upon your arrival, your driver guide will ensure you reach Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any destination of your choice.
